JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Are you attracted to enabling a developing and inclusive future for newly arrived children and youth? Then this could be a position for you! We are looking for an engaged mother tongue teacher! Come and help shape Gävle's future with us.

The students should be given the opportunity to develop and consolidate subject knowledge based on their linguistic prerequisites, which is why we are now looking for a mother tongue teacher in Serbian for Gävle Municipality's primary schools. The work is carried out in collaboration with other educators, student health services, and guardians.

As a mother tongue teacher in Serbian, your responsibilities include:

• teaching the language
• teaching students about the culture and traditions of the countries where the language is spoken

The teaching follows a curriculum that has a comparative purpose, which means that you must also have good Swedish language skills.

For students who have difficulty meeting the knowledge requirements or keeping up in other subjects, you as a mother tongue teacher can provide support through study guidance. This involves highlighting or deepening students' knowledge in an area where Swedish concepts need to be clarified and discussed in the mother tongue.

The employment scope is 10%.

QUALIFICATIONS

To be able to perform the assignment, you must:

• master Serbian fluently in both spoken and written form
• master Swedish fluently in both spoken and written form
• be able to work according to the organization's goals and follow planning

It is important that you:

• feel comfortable standing and speaking, reading, or writing in front of a larger group of children or youth
• have a relationship-building approach
• can create an open dialogue
• adapt your actions according to the situation
• have an unpretentious attitude in your collaboration with others

Within Gävle Municipality, there is a decision regarding the right to full-time employment, meaning that permanent employees can request that the position be a full-time position.
